Privacy Policy — Rukik

Rukik ("Rukik", "we", "us"), operated by Mengqi Huang, runs the Rukik mobile application and the rukik.com website (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: your email address, mobile phone number, or Apple ID identifier when you sign up.
• Family information: family member profiles, memories, goals and reminders you choose to add. Family profiles may include information about children that a parent or guardian adds; it stays inside your family space and is never used for marketing, profiling, or sharing.
• Usage information: your conversations with the Rukik AI assistant, used to provide personalized answers.
• Context information: your home location (country, region, city and time zone), from your settings or from places you mention, used to localize answers and professional matching. It is never published or used for advertising.
• Home addresses you save: addresses you enter in your address book may include a street address and postal code. They are stored only in your address book so you do not have to re-enter them, and are not fed into our news or recommendation systems. This is separate from the city/region-level location context above.
• Consultation files: documents and photos you upload inside a professional consultation, stored privately for that consultation only.
• Content you import by link: when you save an article by sharing or pasting a link, we fetch and process its content so it can be stored in your library. A URL you paste for import may be fetched through a third-party retrieval service (Jina AI), which receives only that URL.
• Invitation records: if you join through someone's invitation code, we record who invited you; if you invite others, we record your outgoing invitations and their join status in aggregate.
• Device information for notifications: a push notification token for your device, relayed through the Expo Push Service and used only to deliver notifications you have enabled.
• Install identifier for invitation attribution: a hash of a randomly generated install ID, used only to attribute invitations and to prevent fraudulent sign-ups. It is not your device's hardware identifier, and it is never used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
• Diagnostics and performance data: if the app encounters an error, it may send a crash report (the error name and message, a stack trace, the screen you were on, the app and build version, and your iOS version and device model) together with performance measurements (such as app launch time, frame drops and memory usage). These reports are linked to your account, are used only to diagnose problems and improve the stability of the Service, and never include the content of your conversations.
• Location information: with your permission, the app accesses your location while you use it (the iOS "While Using the App" permission) for features such as nearby events, distances and weather-aware care. We do not track you continuously and do not collect location in the background; on our servers, location used for these features is kept at city/region level only. Declining permission does not affect other features.
• Calendar information: with your permission, the app can read events from your device calendar and import them as Rukik plans and reminders, and can write plans you confirm back to your calendar. Imported personal events are visible only to you by default; sharing them with your family always requires your confirmation, and sync conflicts are never silently overwritten.
• Event and event-group information: when you join a platform event or an event group through a share link, your participation status and the display name you use in the group are visible to other group members. Groups are joined only through share links — opening a page never joins you automatically. Tapping "Join" inside the app adds the event to your plan; it is not an official ticket purchase or reservation with the event organizer.
• Birth details and traditional-culture features: you may optionally provide your own or a family member's date, time and place of birth, used for birthday reminders and for almanac and traditional-culture content (cultural and entertainment reference only). This content is not medical, investment or other decision advice; we never fabricate missing birth details, and leaving them blank does not affect other features.

2. How We Use Information

We use your information only to provide, maintain and improve the Service; to send reminders you set and notifications you have enabled (delivered using your device's push token); and, with your authorization, to match you with professional service providers. We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

1. 我们收集什么。 只有在您点击插件的「一键记忆」按钮时，插件才会读取您当前页面的标题、来源网站、发布时间、文章正文（或您选中的文字、或仅网页链接——取决于您选择的保存方式）以及您填写的备注，并发送到您的 RUKIK 账号。插件不会在后台读取或监视您的浏览，不会读取其他标签页的内容，也不会收集您的浏览历史。
2. 为什么收集。 为了把内容存入您的个人长期记忆，使您日后可以在「问 Rukik」中跨设备检索、总结和关联这些内容。保存后，我们的系统会为内容生成摘要、主题等索引信息，以便您日后调用；文章内容属于其作者／来源方的观点，我们会标注来源，且不会把报道内容当作已证实的事实。
3. 登录信息。 插件通过 RUKIK 官方登录页面完成账号登录，我们不接触您的密码。登录会话令牌只保存在您浏览器本地（插件存储区），用于保持登录状态；您可以随时在插件中退出登录以清除。
4. 谁能看到。 您保存的内容仅您本人账号可访问，不会向其他用户公开，不出售，不用于广告投放或用户画像，也不会转交第三方（法律法规要求或经您明确授权的情形除外）。为提供存储与智能处理服务，内容会经过我们的云服务提供商与人工智能服务提供商处理，其处理仅限于为您提供上述功能。
5. 删除。 您可以在插件或 RUKIK App 中删除任何一条保存内容，删除后其正文与检索索引将同步失效；您也可以注销账号，并按本政策前述条款删除全部数据。
6. 付费与受限内容。 插件只保存您有权访问的内容，不会绕过网站的付费墙或登录限制；当无法读取正文时，插件只会保存链接，并明确告知您本次保存的范围。

3. Text Messaging (SMS)

Rukik sends one-time passcodes (OTP) by text message to verify your account and let you sign in. These messages are sent on our behalf by Twilio, our SMS delivery provider, which receives your phone number and the code solely to deliver the message. How you opt in: you enter your mobile phone number in the Rukik mobile app and tap to request a verification code. By requesting a code, you agree to receive these one-time passcode messages from Rukik at the number you provided. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of using Rukik or of any purchase. See SMS Verification & Opt-In for a step-by-step view of the in-app opt-in screens.

Message frequency: messages are sent only when you request a verification code or ask us to resend one, so frequency varies by your activity. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. To stop messages: reply STOP at any time to opt out of further text messages. For help: reply HELP or contact us at support@rukik.com. Supported carriers include AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and most major US carriers; carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All categories of data sharing above exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. Your phone number and SMS opt-in consent are used solely to send you the verification codes you request, and are never sold, rented or shared for marketing.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not share your personal information with third parties without your explicit authorization, except: where required by law; to connect you with a professional you asked to be matched with, after your confirmation; and to process AI conversations through AI service providers (currently OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta and Cloudflare for the international edition), as necessary to provide the Service. Your conversations and family memories are not used to train AI models.

Vector embeddings by Cloudflare. Text you submit — such as your current question, your search terms, knowledge you upload and articles you import — is also sent to Cloudflare to be converted into vector embeddings, which power search and memory recall in the Service. This is a commercial API service; your content sent to Cloudflare is not used to train models.

Consultation files stay in the consultation. Files you upload in a consultation are visible only to you and that consultation's professional team. They are never placed in a professional's public knowledge base, never used for training, and never appear in any other consultation.

An invitation is not data access. The person who invited you cannot see your family information, memories, conversations or consultations — and you cannot see theirs. Invitation records are used only for attribution and aggregate counts.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit (TLS) and database row-level access controls, to protect your data. Data is stored with Supabase in Canada. The rukik.com website is a static site and sets no tracking cookies. You may export or delete your account data at any time from within the app.

6. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time in the app under My Family → Settings. Deletion is permanent: your account, family data, memories and conversations are removed from our servers and cannot be recovered.

7. Changes to This Policy

If we change this Policy, we will highlight the update inside the app. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
